Go-Go Splits Weekend Series Against Skyhawks

The Capital City Go-Go returned from it’s road trip to College Park going 1-1 in the series against the Skyhawks for the Showcase portion of the season.
On Saturday, the Go-Go completed a comeback win with a 111-105 final score. Capital City trailed for the majority of the game, but had a strong fourth quarter showing, bringing them to victory. The Go-Go regained the lead with 9:02 left to play in regulation, 88-87 thanks to a 3-pointer from Devon Dotson., giving the team their first lead since early in the first quarter. Capital City outscored the Skyhawks 62-47 in the second half.
Wizards assignment player, Ryan Rollins, had a strong performance, leading the team with 21 points along with 4 rebounds and 2 steals. There was also a standout showing from John Butler Jr. - who had a season-high 17 points, and Hamidou Diallo who had a 17-point, 8 rebound performance.
The Skyhawks were led by Keaton Wallace (19 points, 6 rebounds), Chris Silva (18 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists), and Tyson Etienne (18 points). Six Skyhawks netted double figures.
Less than 24 hours later, the two teams met again for a Sunday rematch. The Go-Go came up short, ultimately falling to the Skyhawks 110-104. The Go-Go trailed for the majority of the game, but once again had a strong fourth quarter showing that brough them within reach.
Go-Go guard Jules Bernard notched his third double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds, along with 3 steals. Hamidou Diallo also had a strong showing with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Skyhawks forward Chris Silva had a dominant performance with 27 points and 13 rebounds, along with Keaton Wallace’s 25 point showing.
The 1-1 split on the weekend gives the Go-Go a 3-2 record on the season, putting them in third place in the East.
Up next, Capital City travels to Toronto for a two game series against Raptors 905 on Saturday and Monday.
