By Capital City Go-Go Staff /March 19, 2024

After two games on the road, the Capital City Go-Go return back to Washington, D.C. to face the Wisconsin Herd.

Despite career-best scoring efforts from Hamidou Diallo, the Go-Go are coming off of back-to-back losses against the Austin Spurs on March 16 and March 17. In Saturday’s matchup, the Go-Go fell behind early, trailing by 6 at halftime. The team kept the game close throughout, but the Spurs would eventually pull away with a 115-100 victory. Diallo scored a then career-high 34 points. Capital City guard R.J. Hampton also had a 25-point evening, shooting 50% from the field, with 7 assists.

In Sunday’s matchup, the Go-Go trailed by 16 at halftime, but mounted a 4th quarter run that came up short in a 120-112 loss. Diallo outdid his career-high 34-point effort from the previous night, pouring in 41 points on 13 of 20 shooting.

With five games left in the regular season, the Go-Go currently sit at 6th in the Eastern Conference – 3.5 games behind the first-place Osceola Magic. In the NBA G League playoff, the top 6 teams from each conference make the playoffs.

The Wisconsin Herd are 1-5 thus far in March, with back-to-back losses against the Motor City Cruise last week on March 15 and March 16. Capital City and Wisconsin played previously last month on February 28, in a game in which the Go-Go won 120-115 after overcoming an 18-point deficit. The Go-Go saw eight players score in double figures that night, including all five starters.

Tip-off for Wednesday’s game is at 7 PM from Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. Tickets for the game are still available via Ticketmaster
