The CrossOver - Episode 1: 2 Games. 12 Hours.

Founded in 2001, the G League serves as the official developmental league of the NBA. G League teams offer an opportunity for both NBA players and prospects to develop their skillsets for the rigors of the NBA. Parent teams, like the Washington Wizards, can sign two-way players with contracts that allow them to play for both the NBA team and its G League affiliate. They can also assign players to get extended playing time with the G League affiliate team.
Such was the case on November 15 for Wizards players Ryan Rollins and Patrick Baldwin Jr. – both 2022 NBA Draft picks. Rollins and Baldwin Jr. played in an 11:30 AM game with the Capital City Go-Go, in which they both started and each scored 14 points in a 120-114 win over the Delaware Blue Coats. “I watched some film on the team before preparing,” said Baldwin Jr. post-game. “I saw their wings and guards can get downhill and attack…They had some guys that could hits shots and kind of got off towards the end. But I think for the most part, we made it tough on them.”
The two then suited up for the Wizards in the team’s matchup against the Dallas Mavericks that evening and both made appearances – Rollins scoring in the 4th quarter on a pullup jump shot. “It took it back to like AAU days, or EYBL,” said Baldwin Jr. “When you’re playing those two games a day, three games a day, and you got to give maximum effort in all of them.”
