Go-Go Splits Series With Today's Win Over Blue Coats

The Capital City Go-Go defeated the Delaware Blue Coats, 120-114, at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. With today’s win, the Go-Go split the season series with the Blue Coats, 1-1, for the Showcase portion of the season.
Capital City started off fast, outscoring the Blue Coats, 42-23, in the first quarter. They were led by Washington Wizards two-way player Eugene Omoruyi, who had 13 points and four rebounds in the quarter. The Blue Coats responded in the second quarter, cutting the Go-Go’s lead to six by the end of the half. The teams had a back-and-fourth battle throughout the second half, but the Go-Go held onto their lead and defeated with Blue Coats 120-114.
Omoruyi led Capital City with a double-double performance, scoring 31 points with 11 rebounds. He also tied for a team-high three steals. Jules Bernard was the team’s second-highest scorer, putting up 20+ points for the third-straight game with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals off the bench. Wizards assignment players Ryan Rollins and Patrick Baldwin Jr. each had 14 points and 8 rebounds in their Go-Go debut. Wizards two-way Jared Butler led the team with nine assists and John Butler Jr. had three blocks for the second-straight game.
David Duke Jr. led the day with 35 points for the Blue Coats. Melvin Frazier Jr. secured a second-straight double-double, leading the night in rebounds with 12 boards while scoring 13 points. Ricky Council IV and Javonte Smart each scored 20+ with 27 and 22 points, respectively.
The Go-Go will travel to College Park to face the Skyhawks in the first of a back-to-back series at Gateway Center Arena on Saturday, November 18 at 6:00 p.m.
