WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Capital City Go-Go (19-8), the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, clinched a spot in the 2022 NBA G League playoffs with a 120-82 win over the Lakeland Magic (9-19) on Friday night at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. This marks the franchise’s first playoff appearance.

Capital City, who have won 13 of their last 15 games, led 30-18 after the first quarter and would head into the half leading by 25-points (60-35). The Go-Go’s 38-point win marks the largest margin of victory in franchise history. Capital City dished 31 assists, the fourth-straight game they have totaled 30 or more assists and held the Magic to 27.4 percent shooting (26-96 FG), an opponent season low.

Seven Go-Go players scored in double-figures, with Jordan Schakel scoring a team-high 23 points (8-13 FG; 6-9 3PM). Jordan Goodwin (14 points), Cassius Winston (13 points), Greg Monroe (11 points) Isaiah Todd (11 points) and TJ Cline (10 points) were also key scoring contributors. Joel Ayayi totaled 10 points and 11 assists on the night, his fourth double-double of the season.

Lakeland was led by Hassani Gravett’s 22 points. BJ Johnson (16 points) and Aleem Ford (14 points) also reached double-figures.

The Go-Go will host the Magic again on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m., the second game of a back-to-back.
