MARCH 26, 2022
GO-GO 114, MAGIC 103

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Capital City Go-Go (20-8), the NBA G League affiliate of the Washington Wizards, won their fifth-straight game, 114-103, over the Lakeland Magic (9-20) on Saturday night in Southeast. The win gave the Go-Go the season sweep over the Magic.

A night after clinching the first playoff berth in franchise history, the Go-Go continued their hot play with their seventh-straight win in the Nation’s Capital, the longest home winning streak in franchise history. After spotting the Magic an early 11-2 lead, the Go-Go quickly rallied with a 15-2 run of their own. From that point, the Go-Go surrendered the lead just one time the rest of the way as they cruised to victory.

The victory kept the Go-Go in the second spot in the Eastern Conference, just a game-and-a-half back of Raptors 905. Seven different players scored in double figures for Capital City, with Joel Ayayi and Jordan Goodwin leading the way with 16 apiece – Goodwin adding five rebounds and 10 assists. Greg Monroe tallied his 12th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Lakeland was led by Hassani Gravett’s 23 points, five rebounds and nine assists. BJ Johnson added 18 points, while TJ Haws scored 16 off the bench for the Magic.

The Go-Go swept all four games of their week-long homestand and will take their winning streak to Fort Wayne on Wednesday for an early 1:00 p.m. tip against the Mad Ants.
