In the quarterfinals of the NBA G League Winter Showcase, the Capital City Go-Go were defeated by the Indiana Mad Ants, 113-102.
The Mad Ants jumped out to an early start behind 10 first quarter points from forward Jarace Walker, who led all players with a game-high 31 points. However, the Go-Go were able to respond and trimmed what was an 11-point deficit to just three in the final minute of the quarter.
A three-pointer from Jules Bernard with 8:32 left in the second quarter gave the Go-Go their second lead of the game, followed by two of Patrick Baldwin Jr.’s 11 points to extend their lead to five. The two teams exchanged the lead down the stretch of the quarter before Indiana would go into halftime with a 60-55 advantage.
In a game that saw seven lead changes, the Go-Go kept making runs behind 20-point efforts from the trio of Jules Bernard, Devon Dotson, and Hamidou Diallo. Capital City was able to tie the game at 84 going into the 4th quarter. The top-seeded Mad Ants opened the quarter on a 9-0 run, once again fueled by the performance of Jarace Walker. The Mad Ants would hold on to the lead and come away with a victory, advancing to the semifinals.
The Go-Go will now face the fourth seed Ontario Clippers in a consolation game on Thursday, December 21 at 9 PM. The game will be available to watch on the NBA App and NBAGLeague.com.
