The Capital City Go-Go will begin their regular season with back-to-back games against the Delaware Blue Coats in Wilmington on December 27 and the Raptors 905 at home in Washington, DC on December 28.
This comes after a 2023 Showcase Season that saw the Go-Go finish 8-6 and qualify as the eighth seed for the NBA G League Winter Showcase last week in Orlando, FL. In the first round of the showcase, Capital City faced the top-seeded Indiana Mad Ants, falling 113-102. In the consolation game, Capital City suffered another loss against the Ontario Clippers, 128-103. The team looks to bounce back to begin the regular season and end 2023 on a strong note.
The regular season opener for the Go-Go will come against the 2022 NBA G League Champions in the Delaware Blue Coats. The two teams faced off last month, splitting their showcase season series. However, both rosters have undergone changes since their November matchups, most notably with former Blue Coat guard and the team’s second-leading scorer David Duke Jr. signing a two-way contract with the San Antiono Spurs.
After matching up against the Blue Coats, the Go-Go will return home to Entertainment & Sports Arena where they’ll await the Raptors 905. In their two-game road trip to Mississauga earlier last month, the Go-Go swept the Raptors 905 behind back-to-back 20-point performances from forward Hamidou Diallo.
With newly acquired players in center Jake Stephens, guard Mychal Mulder, and forward Taylor Funk, the Go-Go will seek to build team chemistry early to begin this NBA G League regular season.
Wednesday’s game against the Delaware Blue Coats will be available to watch on ESPN+ and NBAGLeague.com. Tickets are still available for Thursday’s game against the Raptors 905. For tickets, visit Ticketmaster.
