Go-Go Clinch Eighth Seed in NBA G League Showcase Cup After Series Split Against Westchester Knicks

In a two-game showdown against the Westchester Knicks, the Capital City Go-Go split the series and clinched the eighth seed in the NBA G League Winter Showcase Cup.  

In the game on December 15, the Go-Go were defeated 118-11. Forward Jules Bernard led the team with a game-high 26 points alongside four assists and eight rebounds. Eugene Omoruyi led the team in rebounds with 14 and had 24 points in his double-double performance. Omoruyi’s 14 rebounds were the most by a Go-Go player this season.  

In the rematch on December 17, the Go-Go started fast offensively, scoring 32 points and jumping out to a 32-28 lead. They carried the lead into the half, up 57-55. In the third quarter, Capital City began to pull ahead of Westchester, outscoring the Knicks 33-18.  

Capital City Guard Devon Dotson led the team in points, rebounds, and assists; almost notching a triple-double with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. Washington Wizards assignee Patrick Baldwin Jr. finished the evening with a career-high five blocks, leading the team to a franchise-record 11 blocks in the game. Hamidou Diallo also had a strong performance with 24 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. 

The team will face the number one seed Indiana Mad Ants in the quarterfinals of the NBA G League Winter Showcase on December 19 at 12:00 p.m. The game will be available to watch on ESPN2.
