JALEN JONES TO PLAY FOR TEAM USA AMERICUP QUALIFYING TEAM

It was announced by USA Basketball today that Jalen Jones, the Go-Go’s leading scorer on the season at 19.5 points per game, will participate in 2020 AmeriCup Qualifying Team training camp and games from Feb. 14-23.

Jones and Team USA will begin training in Miami, Fl. during the All-Star Break from Feb. 14-17, before traveling to Puerto Rico for the first of two games on Feb. 20 in San Juan. Team USA will hold practice at the Go-Go’s home court, the Entertainment and Sports Arena, on Saturday, Feb. 22, before taking on Puerto Rico at ESA on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 3:00 p.m. to conclude the round.

Jones currently leads the Go-Go with 19.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game and has led the Go-Go in scoring in 13 games. Jones has tallied 20 or more points in 16 games this season and has recorded a team-leading eight double-doubles.

Two former Go-Go players participated with Team USA last season, when Chasson Randle and Chris Chiozza each played during the second window of FIBA World Cup Qualifying.

The Go-Go have re-acquired Tyrrel Tate to fill the roster void during Jones’ 10 days with Team USA.
